IMO 2020 Update (Tanker Indices) With reference to the implications of the IMO 2020 Sulphur Cap for the Baltic indices, members should be aware of the following guidance given to Tanker Panellists for reporting in Q4 2019

  • Assessments in World scale or in US$:

No change to current guidance, Panellists will base their assessments on prevailing market rates. 

  • Time charter Equivalent calculation: No change to current fuel type

Note: From 1 January 2020, the Baltic will calculate all its TCE’s basis 0.5% sulphur marine fuel.This position will be subject to regular review taking into account industry and IMO announcements.
