The Baltic Index Council (BIC) has given approval for a trial basis a new Capesize vessel as described below, and a further study is to be conducted on the weightings of the Capesize Time Charter Average (C5TC).
The Baltic Capesize vessel (BCI182) for timecharter routes is a non-scrubber fitted vessel based on the following description: 182,000 MT DWT on 18.2 M SSW draft Max age 10 years LOA 292 M / BEAM 45.00 M, TPC 123 MT Grain: 199,500 CBM
Speed & Consumption: 14 knots on 52 MT Laden, 44 Ballast. MFO 13 knots on 44 MT Laden, 36 Ballast. MFO 12 knots on 36 MT Laden, 29 Ballast. MFO 11 knots on 29 MT Laden, 23 Ballast. MFO
There will be a private trial with the Baltic Panellists commencing in September and a public trial will then follow.
Details of the further study on the C5TC will be sent via a separate circular.
