The Baltic Exchange has instructed the auction house Bonhams to organise the sale of the Baltic fountain. The auction, which will raise funds towards a new Baltic Exchange lifeboat at Salcombe, was postponed earlier this year as the Baltic Exchange looked into alternative options for a long term home for the 115 year old fountain. These options included donating the fountain to the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich. However, the Museum has concluded that the piece "sits outside the Museum's collecting remit". The Museum already houses the stained-glass half dome and five windows of the 1922 Baltic Exchange War Memorial which were removed and repaired after the 1992 terrorist attack on the Baltic Exchange.

The figurative female nude fountain had been located in the lobby area of the Exchange’s headquarter at 38 St Mary Axe, London for a number of years.

In December 2021 the Baltic Exchange completed a leasehold sale of the St Mary Axe site and has now temporarily moved to offices on Leadenhall Street.  Extensive refurbishment and upgrades are currently underway to make the St Mary Axe building more environmentally friendly and the Baltic Exchange will move back to the second floor at St Mary Axe in 2023 as tenants. Unfortunately, the fountain could not be incorporated into the new ground floor design of the building.
