Baltic vs Clarksons cricket match

Braemar's Will Halliday reports on the final match of the season
Last week the Baltic Exchange Cricket Club had its final game in what has been a fun season comprising both short form and all day matches. The venue for this Twenty20 match was the green and pleasant surrounds of Barnes CC as we took on the team from Clarksons shipbrokers.
After winning the toss and electing to bat first, the Baltic amassed 176 for 5 wickets from their 20 overs. Leading scorers for the Exchange were Sam Collins (Javelin) who hit 28*, James Harris (EA Gibsons) with 26* and Will Halliday (Braemar) 25*. For Clarksons Henry Potter, Chris Symes and Fraser Lane all delivered good spells of seam bowling and were the clearly pick of their bowlers.
Having umpired without complaint for our entire innings it was now the turn of Will Bowden (Trafalgar Shipping) who steamed in and opened the bowling for the Baltic. His tidy figures of 1-30 were only bettered by Vijay Hosamani (LMCS) who took a remarkable 4-26 and Louis Worrall (Seven Seas) for snared the final three wickets to fall. Clarksons total of 94 all out left them well short of the target set by the Baltic, but Max Bonavia's excellent 35 gave the visitors something to cheer about. We were reminded that his late cuts and offside play were reminiscent of a peak Ian Bell.
As ever, the game was played in excellent spirits and post game refreshments were enjoyed as the sun set over west London.
Thanks to those who contributed this season and thanks also for the support of the Baltic Exchange.
