The season got off to a successful start last week against Braemar at Barnes CC in a Twenty20, with the Baltic winning by 90 runs. The Baltic won the toss and elected to bat in batting friendly conditions amassing a imposing 181, with Ned Parker (Hartland) retiring on 25* after a well-paced innings. Will Bowden (Trafalgar) and Jack Matthews (Seafort) contributed to the scoresheet with scores in the 20s. The stand out bowlers for Braemar was a spell of very brisk bowling from international cricketer Sheldon Valjalo and a controlled economic spell from Will Halliday. The Baltic bowling innings started successfully with James Harris (EA Gibson) taking the new ball and removing the dangerous Sheldon Valjalo. Harris ended with three wickets whilst the others wickets were shared around for the Baltic. A game played in good spirits was further celebrated after the final ball as Barnes CC provided a BBQ for players and supporters to further enjoy the summers evening.
