Baltic Exchange joins celebration of RNLI Salcombe's 200th anniversary

Members of the Baltic Exchange were proud to join the celebration of the 200th Anniversary of RNLI Salcombe and RNLI Kingsbridge on 3 April at a celebratory lunch at Thurlestone Hotel in Kingsbridge.
More than 200 people attended the lunch, which included a fantastic meal overlooking one of the United Kingdom's most scenic coastlines. The event also raised more than £24,000 for RLNI Salcombe lifeboats.
We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Mike Robson from Brown Jenkinson, one of the leading members of the Baltic Exchange Charitable Foundation (BECF), for sponsoring one of the bigger prizes at the charity auction, which was for two nights in London, including dinner and theatre tickets.
Joining the event on behalf of Baltic Exchange was Willy Lythe (Ex Baltic and Clarksons), Catherine Bacon (Ex Cargill), Ian Lauder (ex Baltic Director & Sanko), Gordon Southcott (Ex Thornton Chartering), Carl Ackerley (Taylor Maritime/IVS), Jeremy Poyntz (Ex Clarksons), Isabella Kurek-Smith (Baltic Exchange), Nadia Mirza (Baltic Exchange), Philip Bacon (Chairman of Membership and Icathus Marine), and Duncan Dunn (SSY and Ex Baltic Chairman). We would like to thank them all for their continued support of the RNLI and the Baltic's ongoing commitment to helping to raise crucial funds for lifesaving equipment and vessels.

The Baltic Exchange has a proud history of supporting lifeboats. Salcombe is one of 238 lifeboat stations dotted around the UK and Ireland and depends on donations to maintain its rescue service. Our members have provided financial support to lifeboats at Salcombe for more than 150 years. The 25 kt Tamar Class All Weather Lifeboat The Baltic Exchange III, which is stationed at Salcombe, has saved countless lives since its launch in 2008. Attending events, such as the 200th anniversary lunch of RNLI Salcombe, is a reminder of Baltic Exchange's dedication to supporting the RNLI.
