Baltic members get together for another memorable emerald evening

Members, guests and friends came together in late March for the Baltic Exchange Irish Society's annual dinner, which took place at the Honourable Artillery Company (HAC) in London for an evening of craic agus ceol.

The evening began with a fantastic gathering as members and friends reconnected and made new friendships over pints of Guinness, wine and champagne. The association's chairman Alec Cherry then provided a scintillating speech for all guests, introduced by host Nigel Herdman, before an excellent meal was enjoyed. Guests then enjoy the comedy stylings of Ian Irving who provided further entertainment.
However, the main event of the evening was the raucous singing that could be heard from Malin Head to Mizen Head with stirring renditions of Black Velvet Band, the Leaving of Liverpool and the crowd favourite: The Wild Shipbroker! It was certainly a night to remember for everyone in attendance.
The evening was also a fantastic opportunity to fundraise for the UK's Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI), which the Baltic Exchange is proud to continue its support of. In total, more than £1,200 was raised at the dinner.
Many thanks to Hamilton Shipping for its generous sponsorship contributing to this year's event.
Although the event has now come to a close, the day draws near to 2025's event!
