RSMA Annual Exhibition opens with Baltic Exchange Award presentation and celebration of marine art

On 18 September, the Royal Society of Marine Artists (RSMA) hosted a private view of their Annual Exhibition at Mall Galleries in London, with the Baltic Exchange as special guests. The event, starting at 4 pm, marked the opening day of the exhibition, which ran for just over a week, and was a delightful fusion of modern art, good company, and lively conversation.
Guests were treated to an array of contemporary marine art, complemented by fine wine, all while mingling with the artists themselves. As the preview event, it was a relaxed yet vibrant gathering, offering visitors a unique opportunity to engage with the creators of the works on display.

The exhibition was officially opened by Lord Jeffrey Mountevans, Chairman of the Baltic Exchange, following a rousing speech and an upbeat awards ceremony. A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Baltic Exchange Award, which was awarded to Geoffrey Huband for his stunning painting Scillonian III, The End of the Voyage.
The RSMA Annual Exhibition is a much-anticipated event each autumn, celebrating the beauty and vastness of the sea through the lens of talented marine artists. If you weren’t able to attend this year, don’t worry – the RSMA looks forward to welcoming you next year for another celebration of marine art excellence!
