Baltic Exchange was delighted to once again welcome the entire shipping community to Greece as it hosted its annual Athens Christmas Cocktail Party at Balthazar Penthouse in early December. More than 150 members of the Hellenic shipping community, including Baltic members, non-members, partners and friends gathered at the historic venue in Athens to celebrate another fantastic year and kick start the festive period in style.

The event was also a fantastic networking opportunity, enabling Baltic's members to share news and successes of 2024 with friends and executives from across the industry. Spirits were high throughout the event, which as always proved to be a highlight of the calendar for many.

Speaking at the event, Baltic Chairman Lord Jeffrey Mountevans noted the extraordinary growth the Baltic Exchange has seen in Greece over the past few years. Over the past five years, Baltic Exchange has welcomes 142 new individual members and 45 new member companies from Greece alone. "These numbers not only showcase the Baltic’s increasing reach but also underline the strength of our shared commitment to advancing maritime excellence," Lord Mountevans noted.

He also highlighted some of the major successes of Baltic Exchange in 2024, including its return to Posidonia and the launch of its KYC and FuelEU Maritime Platforms. However, he was also keen to look forward and ensure that Baltic Exchange and its members remain at the heart of the maritime industry. "Tonight is not just about reflecting on successes; it’s about celebrating the connections that make our industry strong. It’s about the friendships, partnerships, and shared ambitions that bind us together," he concluded.
