Baltic Exchange hosts Greek Shipping Co-operation Committee for exclusive London lunch

In one of his first engagements as Chairman of Baltic Exchange, Guy Hindley welcomed more than two dozen members of the wider Greek shipping community to an exclusive lunch on 21 January to celebrate the continued partnership between Baltic Exchange and the Greek Shipping Co-operation Committee (GSCC).
Highlighting the main challenges facing the global shipping industry in 2025, including rising freight costs and emissions regulations, Guy noted that “through collaboration and feedback, we can work together to address the complexities of our industry. The dialogue between Baltic Exchange and the GSCC will be more important than ever as we navigate these changes.”

The lunch, hosted at the magnificent Wax Chandlers Hall in London, began with an excellent drinks reception. The three-course meal was then thoroughly enjoyed by all as everyone came together to celebrate the success and importance of the Hellenic shipping industry to Baltic Exchange.
Over the past seven years, the number of Greek representatives joining Baltic Exchange has risen exponentially, with Baltic Exchange now boasting more than 45 member companies and over 140 individual members from Greece.
In closing the lunch, Guy noted to all of those in attendance, “Let us continue to work together, drawing on our shared history and collective expertise, to shape the future of our industry. Together, we can ensure a maritime community that is innovative, resilient, and sustainable.”
