In Remembrance: 10 April 1992

On 10 April 1992, the Baltic Exchange suffered a devastating tragedy when a bomb exploded outside its historic building at 24-28 St Mary Axe in the City of London. The attack claimed the lives of three people and injured many others, marking a dark day in the Baltic Exchange’s long history.
We remember with deep sorrow those who lost their lives:
Paul Butt, 29, a passer-by
Thomas Casey, 49, Royal Marine and security guard
Danielle Carter, 15, a passer-by
Their lives were cut short in an act of violence that shocked our community and the world. We continue to honour their memory and take time each year to reflect on the impact of that day and those we lost.
