Baltic Exchange was delighted to return to Athens once again to host its Dry Cargo Forum in late September, supported by the FFA Brokers Association (FFABA), for an afternoon of in-depth discussions and insights impacting physical and forward freight markets.

The forum began with an introduction from Mark Jackson, CEO of Baltic Exchange, who gave an overview of the new tools available to members, including new India-focused indices, the new emissions toolkit, and the upcoming KYC platform, as well as new membership options.

John Banaskiewicz, Chairman of the FFABA, then presented an updated on freight rates over the past 12 months before the start of two industry panel discussions. The first, hosted by Martin Crawford-Brunt from the Baltic, looked at the new EU Emissions Trading System, while the second, hosted by John Banaskiewicz, looked more in-depth at the current FFA market.
