Industry leaders and global supply chain experts gathered in Shanghai on 22 October for the opening of the 2024 North Bund International Shipping Forum, held at the prestigious Grand Hall in North Bund. Among the distinguished speakers was Jin Yu Cheong, Head of Baltic Exchange Asia, who joined an influential panel discussion focusing on "Joint Response - Integration, Connectivity, Empowerment."

Cheong was joined by fellow panellists, including Bo Wegener, CEO of CMA CGM Asia Pacific; Yan Xinping, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and professor at Wuhan University of Technology; Lv Xiaobin, vice president of TCL Industrial Holdings and head of its Supply Chain and Quality Safety Center; Amir Maghami, CEO of Safin Shipping of Abu Dhabi Ports Group; and Chu Beiping, president of Shanghai Maritime University.

Each speaker brought forward insights from their respective fields, sharing strategies to build a secure, efficient, and mutually beneficial global supply chain. Cheong's contributions underscored the Baltic Exchange's commitment to enhancing industry resilience and connectivity across Asia. The panel's discussion, which sparked innovative thinking and collaboration, emphasised the importance of open and inclusive networks in fostering a stable and future-ready supply chain.

The 2024 North Bund International Shipping Forum once again established Shanghai as a central stage for global trade thought leadership, reinforcing the Baltic Exchange's influence and dedication to global industry advancement.
