Baltic Exchange Asia joins 2024 Maritime Silk Road Port Cooperation Forum

In late June, Baltic Exchange was invited to be a part of the 2024 Maritime Silk Road Port Cooperation Forum (MPF 2024), taking place in Ningbo City in east China's Zhejiang Province. More than 1,600 people from over 30 countries gathered for the three-day forum, which focused on a number of key industry topics, including trade cooperation, green smart ports, developing shipping services and financial enablement of maritime ecosystems.
Jin Yu Cheong, Head of Baltic Exchange Asia, led one of leading panels on the second day of the forum, which discussed how low carbon and intelligent ports can enhance shipping service energy levels. Joining Jin on the panel were Lee Fee Chong, Regional Director (China) of Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA); Gerardo Landaluce Calleja, Chairman of Algeciras Bay Port Authority; Mar Chao López, President of the Port Authority of Valencia; Krzysztof Kaczmarek, Vice President of the Board, Port of Gdańsk Authority; and Zhang Jian, Vice President of Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries Group (ZPMC).
In addition to this panel, Ying Sun from Baltic Exchange Asia, was a part of a panel on one of the sub-forums that discussed shipping finance. The panel, which was entitled 'Developing New Quality Productivity in the Port and Shipping Industry through Green Investment', provided an opportunity for Baltic Exchange to share its various indices and shipping derivatives developments.
We would like to thank the organisers of MPF 2024 for putting together another excellent and insightful event that continues to showcase the prowess of the Chinese maritime sector and for allowing Baltic Exchange to be a part of the forum.
