The Baltic Exchange was delighted to host the latest Dry FFA Forum in Copenhagen on 26 September, supported by the FFA Brokers Association (FFABA). More than 80 people from across the globe gathered in the Hotel NH Collection for an insightful afternoon of discussions, focusing on key developments impacting both physical and forward freight markets.

The event kicked off with a networking lunch, providing attendees with the opportunity to connect before diving into the day's agenda. Mark Jackson, CEO of the Baltic Exchange, opened the forum with an update on the Exchange’s latest activities, followed by a Dry FFABA update from Chair John Banaskiewicz. These opening sessions set the tone for the afternoon, as industry leaders shared insights and perspectives on the current state of the freight market.

A particularly engaging session was the interactive discussion on Baltic indices, led by Stephen Aitchison and Isabella Kurek-Smith. Attendees gained valuable insights into the ongoing BSI and BCI transitions, sparking a lively conversation among participants.

Following a coffee break, the forum shifted focus to emissions and the EU ETS, with a panel moderated by Martin Crawford-Brunt of the Baltic Exchange. He was joined by industry experts Pernille Dahlgaard from Zero Carbon Shipping and Dagmara Caluzinska from Oldendorff, discussing the critical challenges and opportunities presented by emissions regulations.

The final panel of the day, chaired by John Banaskiewicz, explored the FFA market, with speakers addressing market trends and the impact on forward freight agreements. The discussion highlighted the growing importance of FFAs in the current freight landscape.

The event wrapped up in the late afternoon, but the conversation continued as FFABA hosted an exclusive dinner for invited guests, rounding off a productive and informative day. The Baltic Exchange looks forward to welcoming attendees back to future forums as the market continues to evolve.
