Singapore Shipping Association welcomes Baltic Exchange as its latest member

The Baltic Exchange has officially become a member of the Singapore Shipping Association (SSA), further strengthening its presence in one of the world’s leading maritime hubs. This membership reinforces the Baltic Exchange’s commitment to engaging with the maritime community in Asia and supporting the development of the shipping sector.
Baltic Exchange CEO Mark Jackson attended the SSA’s annual Lunar New Year Cocktail event in Singapore, where he received the membership certificate on behalf of the organisation. The event, attended by over 600 industry professionals, is a key fixture in Singapore’s maritime calendar. Mark also participated in the traditional Lo Hei ceremony, symbolising good fortune and prosperity for the year ahead.
Jin Yu Cheong, Head of Baltic Exchange Asia, commented:
"Joining the Singapore Shipping Association is a significant step for the Baltic Exchange as we continue to engage with the maritime community in Asia. Singapore is a critical hub for global shipping, and our membership will help us strengthen ties with local industry leaders, support the development of the maritime sector, and contribute to important industry discussions."
The SSA, the largest body representing shipping interests in Singapore for the past 40 years, advocates on key maritime issues, promotes best practices, and fosters industry collaboration. Its members span shipowners, operators, brokers, and maritime service providers, many of whom are also Baltic Exchange members.
As an Associate Member, the Baltic Exchange looks forward to supporting SSA initiatives, working closely with industry stakeholders, and contributing to Singapore’s continued growth as a global maritime centre.
